AbleCare Homes, a UK care provider with several homes, built an organisation-wide staff bank in Bemlo. After four months, its reliance on staffing agencies had fallen by 90 percent.

- **Customer:** AbleCare Homes
- **Country:** UK
- **Products:** Pools

## Results

- **−90 %** reliance on staffing agencies
- **40 %+** of applications are for a site other than the home site
- **~30 %** of booked shifts are at another site

## The solution

AbleCare Homes introduced an organisation-wide staff bank in Bemlo. Open shifts at every home are published in one place, and staff from across the organisation can apply for them, not only the staff of that home.

## The results

The staff bank has surpassed AbleCare Homes’ expectations. After four months, its reliance on staffing agencies had fallen by 90 percent.

Today, more than 40 percent of applications and almost 30 percent of booked shifts are for a site other than the staff member’s home site. Movement between sites goes both ways and adapts to each home’s needs and capacity. When gaps can be filled by staff employed by the parent organisation, no agency is needed.

> In addition to helping us reduce our reliance on agencies, an intriguing application of Bemlo has been with our international staff. With Bemlo, international employees can more easily meet their required hours, even during periods when their primary site does not have sufficient hours available.
